When customers need expandable solutions, Xelon comes into play

Topix AG was looking for a partner to strengthen its portfolio with scalable and flexible cloud services from Switzerland. With the purchase of various cloud services, such as the Virtual Datacenter from Xelon, Topix gains more scope for the rapid development and expansion of various cloud solutions.

Topix advises its customers in the media industry on IT environments. Especially in the media environment, where one works with extremely large amounts of data and very different workflows, systems and processes, Topix sees that individual solutions are always required. Here, they can contribute their many years of know-how at both the conceptual and detailed technical levels. In order to be able to flexibly design the consulting and implementation of projects with strong partners, Topix decided to obtain Virtual Datacenter Services from Xelon.

"Many ideas or solutions for customer projects required an external data center due to performance and scalability requirements," says Sven Kugler, responsible for IT solutions and member of the Topix management team. Topix AG, based in St. Gallen, offers strategies, solutions and services for agencies, media service providers, printers, publishers and marketing and communications departments of medium-sized and large companies.

Valuable data is safe during IT disasters

Based on the portfolio and the corporate culture, the choice fell on the Zug-based IT infrastructure provider Xelon. "The people behind Xelon are tangible and we share a similar mindset," says Kugler. The company's location in Switzerland also played an important role, as Topix serves customers with the highest data security requirements. The services Xelon provides for IT service providers are all built in ISO27001-certified Swiss data centers and are thus subject to Swiss data protection.

By sourcing various cloud services, such as Xelon's Virtual Datacenter, Topix gains more leeway to quickly build and expand diverse cloud solutions. In the event of IT disasters, end customers do not lose valuable data because it is stored externally. In contrast to operating their own servers, there is no need to set up their own hardware thanks to the collaboration with an external service provider. Since the IT infrastructure is in good hands with Xelon, Topix can focus more on its core business, easily expand its portfolio, and thus serve customers even better.
